Mixed media painting

Course Summary

This is a 6 video presentation of a painting using Collage and thin washes of Acrylic. You will be taken on a tour of Scottish Still Life paintings where you will analyse the essence of their composition. We will reinterpret a composition and ultimately produce a unique painting working with collage and acrylic painting with graphite and print elements. Although routed in real objects, this is a non realistic interpretation of our subject matter. If you want to shake up your artistic approach this course will really make you think.

Angus McEwan

I a past President of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours (RSW). I taught in the further education sector for 24 years in Scotland, I exhibit Internationally and have won many awards over the years. I went to Art school at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (Dundee, Scotland) receiving a Degree and Post Graduate Degree in Fine Art. I also have a post graduate certificate in Secondary Education -PGCSE with merit. Over the past number of years I have also been teaching Watercolour Internationally; including, Russia, China, France, Portugal, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany and the United States. I taught a wide range of subjects in College using a multitude of materials and taught absolute beginners to degree level students, but my real passion is watercolour. I teach in-person workshops as well as online classes. I am currently a member of the RSW (Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours), RWS (Royal Watercolour society, London), AWS (American Watercolor Society, NY), NWS (National Watercolor Society, LA), AWI (Australian Watercolour Institute), RGI (Royal Glasgow Institute), IMWA (International Masters of Watercolour Association, China) amongst others.

He transmits the love for his particular and unique watercolour technique with great passion and patience, his technique is made of the choice of unusual subjects, textures and glazes developed by himself.
